Size Guide
Air Canada allows a carry-on of 21.5 × 15.5 × 9 in. WestJet, United, Delta and American allow 22 × 14 × 9 in. Southwest allows 24 × 16 × 10 in. Every one of them measures wheels and handles. Of TROCHI's five carry-on models, only the Gold Line (21.5 × 14.5 × 7.9 in) is inside Air Canada's limit on all three sides, and none is under the 14-inch width the other carriers publish.
Most luggage brands answer the airline question with "fits most airlines". We would rather show the numbers, including the ones that do not flatter us, so you can decide before you buy instead of at the gate.

TROCHI carry-ons against each limit
Dimensions are external, height × width × depth, in inches. "Over" means the case exceeds the airline's limit on that axis by the amount shown.
| Case | Price | H × W × D | Empty weight | Air Canada (21.5 × 15.5 × 9) | WestJet, United, Delta, American (22 × 14 × 9) | Southwest (24 × 16 × 10) |
|---|---|---|---|---|---|---|
| Gold Line (Costa, Anna, Black Chin, Sapphire) | $270 | 21.5 × 14.5 × 7.9 | 7.0 lb | Within limit | Over: width +0.5 | Within limit |
| Guerilla | $300 | 21.5 × 14.5 × 9.5 | 6.5 lb | Over: depth +0.5 | Over: width +0.5, depth +0.5 | Within limit |
| TERRY 3.0 Carry-On | $180 | 21.5 × 14.5 × 10 | 7.5 lb | Over: depth +1.0 | Over: width +0.5, depth +1.0 | Within limit (depth exactly 10) |
| Lady Pink Graffiti Tag Carry-On | $230 | 21.8 × 15 × 9.3 | 6.9 lb | Over: height +0.3, depth +0.3 | Over: width +1.0, depth +0.3 | Within limit |

How to read the table
Gate agents enforce the sizer, not the tape measure, and enforcement varies by airport, by aircraft and by how full the flight is. A case that is over by a fraction of an inch on paper may go through the sizer without comment on one flight and be gate-checked on the next. We list the numbers so you know how much of that risk you are taking, not to promise an outcome.
Two practical rules follow from the table. If you mostly fly Air Canada, the Gold Line is the only TROCHI carry-on that is inside the limit on every axis. If you mostly fly United, Delta, American or WestJet, every TROCHI carry-on is over on width by 0.2 to 1.0 inch; the Gold Line and the Guerilla are the closest, and the Charles Trunk, at 11 inches deep, is the one to treat as a checked bag on a strict day.
A caveat about wheels and handles
The dimensions above are the manufacturer's registered external dimensions for each case. We have not yet confirmed whether they include the wheels and the top of the retracted handle, and every airline in the table measures both. If they are not included, the true outer envelope is taller than listed, and a case shown as "within limit" may not be. We are measuring every model with a tape, wheels and handle included, and will replace the numbers on this page and on the product pages as soon as that is done.
Checked luggage: the 62-inch rule
Air Canada's standard checked allowance is 158 cm / 62 in total (height + width + depth) and 23 kg / 50 lb per bag, with fees above either number. Most North American carriers publish the same two figures. The empty weight of the case counts toward the 50 lb.
| Case | Price | H × W × D (in) | Linear inches | Empty weight | Against 62 in |
|---|---|---|---|---|---|
| TERRY 3.0 Check-In Medium | $220 | 26 × 18 × 12 | 56.0 | 8.5 lb | Within limit |
| Charles Trunk Check-In Medium | $250 | 27.2 × 16.2 × 13 | 56.4 | 8.4 lb | Within limit |
| TERRY 3.0 Check-In Large | $260 | 29 × 20 × 13.5 | 62.5 | 10.5 lb | Over by 0.5 |
| Charles Trunk Check-In Large | $300 | 33 × 17.7 × 14.6 | 65.3 | 11.0 lb | Over by 3.3 |
| Lady Pink Graffiti Tag Check-In | $320 | 30.1 × 21 × 14.5 | 65.6 | 9.3 lb | Over by 3.6 |
| TC5 Team Work Check-In Large | $440 | Not yet published | – | 11.3 lb | – |
The two medium cases are comfortably inside the standard allowance. The three large cases are over it on paper, which on most carriers means an oversize fee rather than a refusal; check your airline's oversize charge before choosing a large case for a route you fly often. A 10.5 lb case leaves 39.5 lb of the 50 lb allowance for what goes inside.
Frequently asked questions
Does carry-on size include wheels and handles?
Yes. Air Canada, WestJet, United, Delta, American and Southwest all state that the published limit includes wheels and handles. Measure the full outer envelope, with the handle retracted, not the shell alone.
Which TROCHI carry-on fits Air Canada?
On paper, the Gold Line: 21.5 × 14.5 × 7.9 in against a 21.5 × 15.5 × 9 in limit. The Guerilla is over on depth by half an inch, the TERRY 3.0 by one inch, the Lady Pink carry-on by 0.3 in on height and depth, and the Charles Trunk by 0.2 in on height and 2 in on depth.
Which TROCHI carry-on fits United, Delta, American or WestJet?
None on paper. Those four publish a 14-inch width limit and every TROCHI carry-on is 14.2 to 15 inches wide. The Charles Trunk is closest on width at 14.2 in but is 11 in deep; the Gold Line and Guerilla are 14.5 in wide and otherwise within or close to the limit.
Is a 20-inch suitcase a carry-on?
Not automatically. In the luggage trade "20-inch" is a nominal size, and the overall height with wheels and handle is higher. TROCHI's 20-inch models measure 21.5 to 21.8 inches overall, which is why we publish the overall figure and not the nominal one.
What happens if my case is half an inch over?
It depends on the gate. Sizers and gate agents are not uniform, and a case that is marginally over often goes through, but the airline is within its rules to gate-check it, sometimes for a fee. If you cannot afford that risk on a given trip, choose the case with the most margin on your airline or check a bag.
Do TROCHI checked cases fit the 62-inch limit?
The two medium sizes do, at 56 and 56.4 linear inches. The TERRY 3.0 Large is over by half an inch and the Charles Trunk Large and Lady Pink Check-In are over by roughly three and a half inches, which usually means an oversize fee.
