LADY PINK (Sandra Fabara)

Lady Pink was born in Ecuador,raised in NYC, and currently resides in the countryside north of the city. In1979 she started writing graffiti and soon became well known as the only femalecapable of competing with the boys in the graffiti subculture. Pink paintedsubway trains from the years 1979-1985, having a starring role in the motionpicture "Wild Style" in 1982. That role and her other significantcontributions to graffiti have made her a cult figure in the hip-hopsubculture.

While still in high schoolshe was already exhibiting paintings in art galleries, and at the age of 21 hadher first solo show at the Moore College of Art. As a leading participant inthe rise of graffiti-based art, Lady Pink's canvases have entered important artcollections such as those of the Whitney Museum, the MET in New York City, theBrooklyn Museum, and the Groningen Museum of Holland. She has establishedherself in the fine arts scene all over the world, and her paintings are highlyprized by collectors.

Today, Lady Pink continuesto create new paintings on canvas that express her unique personal vision. Shealso shares her 42 years of experience with teens by holding mural workshopsand actively lecturing to college students throughout the world.
